Classes and Prices

For all new swimmers we will do a pre-assessment swim test to determine which swim level they will fit into in our swim school. We have found this to be the most effective way to meet the individual needs of your child. Although it is not a requirement it is highly recommended.

Each session has 9 lessons. The amount of time a student spends in the water is determined by his/her attention span and ability. All of our teachers are certified and up to date with the latest teaching techniques. At the end of each session each student is given a certificate stating what skills he/she has passed during the session. Our cancellation policy, accepted forms of payment and pool rules are listed below.

Semi-Privates, Privates and Groups

Group Classes

  • Preschool (those in preschool)  - 3 and 5 years old – $65 (3 swimmers,North Shore Swimming Lessons 9 x 1/2hr lessons)
    • To orient preschool-age children to the aquatic environment and to help them acquire rudimentary levels of basic aquatic skills
  • Learn to Swim – 6 years to teen – Classes are $65 (9 x 45 min lessons)
    • Level 1 – To begin developing positive attitudes, good swimming habits and safe practices in and around the water – (4 swimmers)
    • Level 2 -  To give participants success with fundamental skills, including learning how to float without support and to recover to a Gunstock Swim Lessonsvertical position -  (4 swimmers)
    • Level 3 – To build on the skills in Level 2 by providing additional guided practice in deeper water – (3-5 swimmers)
    • Level 4 – To develop participants’ confidence in the strokes learned in Level 3 and to improve other aquatic skills (3-5 swimmers)
  • Stroke workshops – teens through adult – Cost under private and semi-private sessions
    • Tailored to the needs of the individual

Semi – Private and Private Lessons

We also offer private and semi-private lessons. This option is ideal for swimmers younger than preschool age, older students that have not taken swimming before or would like to refine their strokes.

  • 15 Minute Private – 2 ½ to 3 ½ yr olds – $60 (one-on-one with Gunstock Parent and Child Aquaticsteacher,  9 lessons)
  • 30 Minute Private – 3 1/2 to adults – $90 (one-on-one with teacher, 9 lessons)
  • Semi- Private are $75 (2 swimmers of similar skills, 9 x ½ hr lessons)
  • Parent and Child Aquatics – 6 months to 2 years old – $60  (9 x 15 min private)
    • To familiarize young children (from ages 6 months to about 3 years) to the water and prepare them to learn to swim. It is not designed to teach children to become good swimmers or to survive in the water on their own.

Polices and Guidelines

Cancellation Policy

There are no refunds for those who cancel the day of or after the class begins. If for some reason the participant is not able to finish his/her class he/she may allow someone else to finish the swim class for them, if the new participant’s swimming skills are similar to the original participant. If the participant misses a day due to sickness or other circumstances we do not offer make up classes or refunds; however, if we cancel class due to holidays or other circumstances we will notify you and provide an assigned make up class.

Method of Payment

We accept checks or cash. If you are paying for swim lessons with cash we would ask that you place it in an envelope with your name on it so that we can trace the amount to you. Money can be given to the aquatics director or placed in the black box on the pool deck.

Pool Rules

  • Lifeguards reserve the right to make or modify rules as deemed necessary for safety.
  • All swimmers must take a shower before entering the pool
  • If your child is unable to swim independently a parent must accompany them in the pool at all times.
  • Floaties can be worn however they do not replace an adult accompanying a child in the pool.
  • No diapers. Plastic pants or swimmers required for children not toilet trained.
  • No diving allowed.
  • Some pool toys will be provided by Gunstock Aquatics, additional toys must be approved by lifeguard before they are permitted in the pool.
  • Any persons having open blisters, cuts, bandages, infectious disease, etc., are prohibited from using the pool.
  • No running, boisterous or rough play or excessive noise within pool area.
  • No food, drinks, or gum inside pool area.
  • No drugs, beer, alcohol, smoking
  • Max Capacity: 35 swimmers will be permitted in the pool at a time.
  • Lifeguards reserve the right to refuse admittance to or eject from the pool premises, any persons failing to comply with any pool regulations
